Thankful Thursday Feb 28

I think I might have skipped Thankful Thursday last week, I am too lazy to check, so I will just press on.

I have been working out a lot lately and reading about the power of our minds (checkout the book "The Charge", and the documentary "Happy"), which has inspired this weeks Thankful Thursday...

Today I am thankful for my amazing body.  I know what you are thinking "full of yourself much Kisha?"  NO, seriously.  We, who have healthy bodies and our lives should remember how amazing these bodies are.  We can really do anything with our bodies.  If we are fat we have the ability to lose weight and become skinny, If we are too thin we have the ability to workout to gain muscle and mass.  We can learn, and heal, regenerate cells, we have the power to shape our brains, and emotions, we can control our worlds by what we think about, and we have the power to do great things in society with our bodies and brains.  So big shout out to God who created us with our human abilities.

Thankful Thursday Feb 21

Today I woke up to a wonderful text, a text that I had been waiting for, for a while.  One of my favorite people had just got engaged.  Hooray, I had been mentally planning her wedding since we planned my own (bwahahaha). Then I realized that today my little niece was going to take her first breath.  Whoohoo.  Then my son was talking about a cousin that he wished he had more time with and I realized that we were moving down the road from him.  Triple score! My Husband, kids and myself all woke up this morning healthy and ready for the day. Always the best gift an one that we take for granted. And I am planning a trip to Disneyland (probably the best part about my day J/K).

So today I am Thankful that God always comes through.  Yesterday I felt anxious so I prayed...see Philippians 4:6.  Today I woke up feeling hopeful and excited.  It was almost as if he answered my prayers by replying, "focus on all the good things that are happening over the next year, don't worry about the unknown, I will take care of it..keep going, it will all work out".  Thanks God.  I am Thankful for a God that is always there.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

I am thankful for my friends and family, who know me, who love me and who don't listen to the propaganda that is being spread about me.  Family and friends who know what it means to love, forgive and live.  I need to forget what has happened in the past and press on with my life in love and happiness focusing on the people that I love and who love me in return.

I read a verse today about love and about what love is and how to love and I realized that it is just as important to "do" love (love as an action verb) as it is to speak love. Just saying I love you is not enough.  We need to show it through actions.  This week I am going to focus on showing love, not just saying I love this person or that person.  I will act it out, by helping where I can, putting my pride aside, forgiving, reacting with empathy and love.

1 John 30:18
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Happy Thanking

Thankful Thursday Feb (1)

In case you haven't been following me all over the web at my various (ridiculous) sites, I will explain what Thankful Thursday is.

On Thanksgiving last year I decided to write down everything I was thankful for that week on Thursdays (since Thanksgiving is on a Thursday).  Then at the end of the year I would have 52 posts (one for each week) and it will be a good way for me to reflect on the blessings that I have experienced throughout the year, because it is easy to forget.  In the end, I hope, that it will be a year book of sorts about what we have done throughout the year.

Here is my Thankful Thursday for the First week of February:

This week I am Thankful for good weather, it has been wonderful this week, chilly but warm enough to go out and play.

I am Thankful for the ability to play.  Last week I decided to turn off the TV and just spend the entire day playing with my girls.  In fact we called the cable company and had them discontinue our cable service, we don't need to watch TV, it will save us $125 a month and Netflix is sufficient for the few times we do watch TV during the week. Playing more and watching TV less has made my kids happier (all they really want is attention), made our house more peaceful, and has somehow given me a strange sense of fulfillment. Almost like playing with the kids more everyday has made my life so much easier.  YAY GOD FOR PLAY. It's the simple things that make the biggest impacts on our lives.

Happy Thanking
