Meet Kisha

Welcome to my blog

I am so glad that we've found each other.  I created this blog to share my journey into Christianity,  Motherhood, being a Wife and trying to find what God's purpose is for me along the way.  I am basically an open book with my friends and since you have visited my "home", we are now friends.  I hope that you will share your story with me as well but since you are here now I will give you a little bit of my background and motivation for starting this blog.

I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness.  As well intentioned as my parents and the members of the church are, I always felt unhappy and as if I could never be enough for God as a Jehovah's Witness and therefore turned away from God with a heavy heart.  But as with all believers I knew that God was there and I still prayed that I could find a way to grow a relationship with him.  I found a church that I believed would be good to raise my children in but I didn't have high hopes for myself.  After taking a 16 week church counselor class I discovered that God had not turned on me and that just because I could not follow the rules of the Jehovah's Witnesses it didn't mean that I could not be a follower of God.  I decided to dedicate my life to Jesus in early 2012 and my life has been changed ever since.

As any believer can tell you, life as a Christian is hard.  Being a new Christian at my age is even harder, I have the stress of breaking away from my JW family added to the regular pressures of Christian life.  I am also a new mother and wife so I need to figure out how to juggle my family and raising my children in Jesus.  This is a place for me to share my struggles, successes, hobbies, crafts, and laughs along the way.

I named this site "Chasing Grace" for three reasons.  First it has been my relationship with God my entire life.  I have always been finding a way to "buy" my way into the kingdom, and chasing God when really I discovered that he has been coming after me all along.  Secondly, my Grandmothers name was Grace, when she died I attended her funeral and learned about what an amazing woman she was.  I realized that day that my goal was to be more like her, a great mother, friend, philanthropist, and most importantly a strong Christian.  Lastly, my oldest daughter's middle name is Grace and so it represents my follies in motherhood, chasing my three children around all day.

My hopes for this blog is that it can become a place for anyone to come who can relate to my words, share your stories, or leave my site with some good ideas or tips that I may leave from time to time.

So get comfy, grab a cookie, a yummy drink and take a look around. I would love for you to visit often so we can become friends.

Happy Reading
